As Above So Below

Messages come to us through the movement of the planets and stars, our capacity for intuition and attunement to the Divine, and the most obvious occurences and observations from Life itself.

Mercury More Exciting than Mars?

Wired article about Mercury. It's interesting to think about the physical nature of a planet and compare it symbolically to how we interpret it astrologically.

Jupiter in Aquarius

Are you posting to your peeps on Facebook or MySpace? Pumping up your profile on LinkedIn? Are you 'DIGGing' like my friend Portentious? Is your avatar a popular guy, gal or fuzzy on Second Life? We are in an explosion of 'social networking' whether bookmarking at delicious, posting/discussing videos at youtube or uploading pics on Flickr.

It's not like social networking wasn't around before Jupiter went into Aquarius (1/5/09) but I keep reading that those sites are exploding with new members and there are more articles in the media than ever about their impact. Jupiter expands the arena of whatever sign it's in. Aquarius symbolizes groups, clubs, organizations and that feeling which is sometimes called 'brotherhood.' With Jupiter in Aquarius it feels like a biological imperative that we must be connected.

Are you being stimulated by this Jupiter transit? If you know astrology (and you should!), take a look at your chart to connect the symbols. Or just observe what groups you've joined (online or otherwise) in the past month. Also, what friends have contacted you. And who you have reached out to who you haven't been in touch with lately. Jupiter stays in a sign for approximately one year, so observing the past month (as it applies to 'connecting') will give some clues about the year ahead.

Play Nice

I just joined digg. You can find news stories I think are interesting here. When you digg a story, it moves up in the ranking and may get more media coverage than in the original news report or blog.

I was motivated to do this by a story about a father who asks his son to obey the Geneva Conventions while playing the video game Call of Duty.

It reminds me of a number of things:

1. That we exist on many levels - physical, astral, causal
2. That what we do on every level affects all the other levels
3. That as people create identities, whether by emphasizing a personality trait in their own physical lives, or by creating an avatar in a video game or virtual world, this affects all levels of our being.
4. Our causal or causitive or divine self, will give us what we ask for.
5. We ask for things by where we put our life energy or what we visualize (over a long period of time, usually).
6. We need to be careful of what we ask for.

Play nice, kids.

Success Metaphor by Yogananda

Here's a quote by Paramahansa Yogananda from the book How to Be Happy All the Time:

"Men of success are those who have nerve enough to make an indelible blueprint in their minds of whatever they wish to build or produce upon this earth. They then employ as the financiers their creative ability, as the builders their will power, as the carpenters their detailed attention, and as the laborers their mental patience -- and thus materialize their dream."

We need to counteract the images from the media about "the depression." Even just the phrase "the depression" is enough to make me run for a cup of St. John's Wort tea.

Digital Television

With the change to all DTV -- by law -- deadline February 17th, does this mean symbolically that people in the US will begin to see things more clearly?
